This policy describes how Casperia responds to copyright complaints regarding content hosted on our OpenSimulator grid, in the spirit of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
1. Filing a Takedown Request
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on Casperia without permission, contact grid staff with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work.
- The location of the infringing content (region name, coordinates, and/or object UUID if known).
- Your contact information (name and email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
- A statement that the information you've provided is accurate.
2. Our Response
Upon receiving a valid complaint, we will review it, may temporarily remove or disable access to the content in question, and will notify the resident who uploaded it.
3. Counter-Notice
If you believe content was removed in error, or that you had permission to use it, you can contact us with a counter-notice including the original location of the content and a statement of good faith. We'll review and may restore the content if the complaint isn't pursued further.
4. Repeated Violations
Residents who repeatedly upload infringing content may be warned, temporarily suspended, or permanently removed from the grid, depending on severity.
5. No Liability for User Content
Casperia hosts user-generated content. We aren't responsible for copyrighted material uploaded by residents, but we act on valid DMCA complaints when we receive them.
